Learn how to make scones the easy way with 15 minutes and 5 basic ingredients (that you probably already have at home!). Soft, moist, easy to make - and a perfect vehicle for butter, marmelade or cream cheese. You will be making these savory scones over and over again!

½ teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 cup plain flour 3 tablespoon butter ⅓ cup milk

INGREDIENTS:

Place flour, salt and baking powder in a mixing bowl and mix well.

Add butter cut in pieces - easiest if it's soft!

Mix in the butter well, taking care to really get it mixed with the flour mixture

Add milk

Now mix into a cohesive dough. Use your hands when necessary!

Don't work the dough longer than necessary to form it into a ball - once that's possible, it's done!

Split the dough into two  similar size pieces and roll them into balls

Place the dough balls on a lined baking sheet, and flatten them until they're about 4 inches across

Cut each scone into 4 pieces

Prick with a fork to create small holes

Bake at 440°F for 8-10 minutes, until golden

Serve warm from the oven, with butter, marmelade, cream cheese - or any other topping of your choice!
