Authentic Swedish Saffron Buns

Made in time for Saint Lucia day they're eaten all through the holidays. This is my 100% authentic, tried and tested, all-time best recipe - and it's easy to make without quark and nuts.

INGREDIENTS:

Saffron Threads Sugar Rum Fresh Yeast Milk Salted Butter Flour Raisins Eggs

Grind together the saffron and sugar. Then mix with the rum and set aside.

In a large bowl, mix together the yeast, milk, butter, saffron mix, and rum

Start adding the flour a little at a time. Then start kneading the dough. Then set aside.

Take pieces of the dough, roll them out into a long snake shape, then roll the edges to create the "S" shape

Place a raisin in the middle of each spiral, then set aside. Once the dough has risen, brush them with an egg wash

Bake the Buns until golden brown. Then place on a cooling rake before serving.
