Add cold water, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, turmeric, cayenne pepper and an ice cube to a shaker. Shake well and pour into a low-ball glass. Top with soda water and decorate with a lemon slice.

Ingredient notes & substitutions
Lemon needs to be fresh, store-bought juice just won't do
Apple cider vinegar should be unprocessed and unfiltered for the healthiest tonic - but you can use other types as well
Cayenne pepper can beskipped if you don't want the heat
Tips & tricks
If you don't have a cocktail shaker, just mix everything in a glass instead
To reduce the heat, skip the cayenne pepper
Make ahead by mixing everything together, then give it a mix, pour, and top with soda water just before serving
If the turmeric floats to the top just give it a mix with a spoon or straw
Sweeten it by adding 1-2 teaspoon of liquid honey to the cocktail shaker with the rest of the ingredients, then shake well
