Make homemade Air Fryer Tortilla Chips in under 10 minutes - and forget all about the storebought kind. With just a little bit of oil and a sprinkle of salt, they come out crispy and golden - and perfect for all your dipping needs.
Preheat your air fryer by running it for 5 minutes at 300°F (150°C).
Brush the tortillas with oil on all sides and sprinkle with salt.
2 medium-sized corn tortillas, 1 tablespoon neutral vegetable oil, ½ teaspoon fine table salt
Place the tortillas on top of each other and cut in half. Place the halves on top of each other, and cut in half again. Place the quarters on each other, and cut in half again.
Spread out the tortilla pieces in your air fryer basket, in one layer. Fry them in batches if necessary rather than overcrowding the basket. Then air fry for 3 minutes at 300°F (150°C).
Bring out the air fryer basket and turn the chips, then air fry for 3 more minutes at 300°F (150°C).
Place the finished chips on a kitchen towel to rest, for at least 5 minutes. Enjoy!

Notes
Ingredient notes & susbtitutions
Corn tortillas - I use medium-sized tortillas
Vegetable oil - I use rapeseed oil, but any neutral vegetable oil works
Seasonings can be added as desired - how about some paprika powder, chipotle powder, or maybe even some ranch seasoning or nutritional yeast?
Tips & tricks
Fry in one layer only to make sure your chips come out crispy
Change up the seasonings and add any flavor you like - either sprinkle it on after the oil, or mix in with the oil
Don't cook them too long - they will crisp up when they rest, so they will not be crispy when you first bring them out from the air fryer
Store in a plastic bag in room temperature - they are good for up to 5 days
Make them ahead of time - they are just as good on the second and third day
Why did my chips not cook correctly?
Too long/short cook time:
Cook time will vary with the model and brand of your air fryer. If they came out too brown, or not crispy, try adjusting the time up or down.Overcrowding: you might have overcrowded the basket - make sure you cook them in one layer. No oil: You need a bit of oil to make them golden and crispy instead of brown.Too high temperature: If they come out brown rather than golden, try adjusting the temperature down a bit.
