Notes
This air fryer recipe was created in a Philips HD9252/90 Air Fryer*. Cooking time can vary with your air fryer model. You can use any kind of veggie burgers you like for this recipe, store bought or homemade. For store bought I like Beyond Burger and for homemade I love Hey Nutrition Lady's Chipotle Black Bean Burgers. Cook time will vary depending on how thick your burgers are.
Tips & tricks
Preheat the air fryer for the very best results
Don't defrost the veggie burgers, cook them straight from frozen
Don't overcrowd your air fryer basket - you want to cook the burgers in a single layer, so split them in multiple batches if necessary
Flip the burgers halfway for an even cook
Adjust cook time depending on the size of the burgers - this can vary a lot. I find these times work well for me:
Beyond Burger: 6 + 6 minutes
Thin veggie burgers: 4 + 4 minutes
Cook time can vary with different air fryers
Store any leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days - but I recommend not air frying more than you will finish
How do you know when veggie burgers are done?
Veggie burgers should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). This is easy to check with a meat thermometer. If you don't have one, cut into the burger and make sure it's hot all the way through. No nutritional information provided as this will vary with the brand and type of burgers you use.
