Why you will love this recipe

    • It's the best way to cook frozen veggie burgers
    • Quicker than cooking stovetop
    • Better texture and crispier exterior thanks to the circulating hot air
    • Super easy and done in 10-12 minutes + 5 minutes of preheating
    • Minimal clean-up - just the air fryer

What you need to make them

ingredients for air fryer frozen veggie burgers

    Ingredient notes

    • Frozen veggie burger: You can use any kind of frozen burgers you like, store bought or homemade. For store bought I like Beyond Burger and for homemade I love Hey Nutrition Lady's Chipotle Black Bean Burgers. Cook time will vary depending on how thick your burgers are.
    • Frozen meat burgers can also be air fried - then check out this post all about cooking frozen burgers in air fyer

    How to make them

collage showing how to make frozen veggie burgers in air fryer
    1. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C), then place a veggie pattie or two in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 4-6 minutes.
    2. Flip the burgers and air fry for 4-6 minutes more
    3. Check to make sure the burgers are done, and serve with your favorite toppings and sides

    Tips & tricks

    • Preheat the air fryer for the very best results
    • Don't defrost the veggie burgers, cook them straight from frozen
    • Don't overcrowd your air fryer basket - you want to cook the burgers in a single layer, so split them in multiple batches if necessary
    • Flip the burgers halfway for an even cook
    • Adjust cook time depending on the size of the burgers - this can vary a lot. I find these times work well for me:
      • Beyond Burger: 6 + 6 minutes
      • Thin veggie burgers: 4 + 4 minutes
    • Cook time can vary with different air fryers
    • Store any leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days - but I recommend not air frying more than you will finish

    Recipe FAQ

How do you know when veggie burgers are done?

Veggie burgers should reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). This is easy to check with a meat thermometer.

If you don't have one, cut into the burger and make sure it's hot all the way through.
