The holiday season is as much about food as it's about spreading love and kindness - especially for foodies. Here we've gathred the holiday dishes foodies enjoy the most this season. Is your favorite on the list, or what is your favorite to enjoy this season?
Crème Brûlée

A foodie shared their favorite holiday dessert, "Crème brûlée, because I can make it so reliably. It's simple but when you serve it in your best fancy ramekins, it feels so special." You know your guests will be impressed if you serve something French, and who doesn't love a good crème brûleée!
Apple Pie

"I made apple pies two ways. One was graham cracker crust with a cinnamon apple filling, and then I baked it. Made apple butter over night in my crockpot and topped the pie with it Thanksgiving morning. It was gone instantly, and I was told I had to make it again," [sic] commented one foodie. Seriously, can you ever go wrong with an apple pie on holidays? And apple butter?? Who are you, and can you please come to my holiday party?

Duck

An experimental foodie commented, "I love duck. I introduced it to my friend on Thanksgiving & they've been having duck every year since then." Holiday food should be something you don't eat regularly, and duck would be just that for most people, unless maybe you're in China! I've never made it for Thanksgivingl, but it has been my go-to recipe for Christmas and New Year's Eve for years.
Leg of Lamb

A foodie with a penchant for meat revealed their favorite holiday dish: leg of lamb with mint sauce and roasted potatoes. That sounds mighty delicious and would feed the whole family, and leave you leftovers for the next day.
My family always made lamb for Easter, and then used the leftovers to make an even better dish the next day: Heddy's Hash, named after my late grandmother. It's basically chopped up leftover lamb mixed with chopped potatoes and carrots, and mixed with sauce. Then you bake it, for the perfect leftover casserole. You can thank me later!
Sweet Potato Casserole

One user on an online thread shared their favorite dish, which their Dad used to make: "Sweet potato casserole. Sweet potatoes, LOTS of butter, brown sugar, and topped with marshmallows." That's probably a hundred thousand calories or so, but I know, it's worth it!
Deep Fried Turkey

Another user added to the thread, "Always and forever, deep fried turkey." Yes, until you do it wrong and set the house on fire... I never got the point of deep drying it, it's so good just baked in the oven! Maybe you can enlighten me?
Prime Rib

"We make prime rib on Christmas Day. Just sear it in the iron skillet then into the oven. I make gravy and mashed potatoes with green beans. Super simple. No stress, and it's delicious," shared a foodie. Sometimes, simple and classic is the way to go!
Mashed Potatoes

One person made their love for this humble dish known, "Just mashed potatoes for me. If they are made with sour cream with chives and butter... mmmm." Honestly, side dishes on holidays don't get enough credit. Everyone talks about the main dish, but in the end it seems most people prefer the sides?
Eggnog

"Eggnog! You can't get it in many other countries so you can also make it yourself. I have made it before and it's still delicious and decadent," commented one user. More countries need eggnog. All year round, or at last throughout the cold season!
Fondue

"My favorite holiday meal is a simple fondue. During mid-December, winter hits us for real, with snow and proper cold. So a warm, hearty, and simple meal really does it for me," commented a user on an online discussion. Fondue on a cold winter evening with your loved ones - that's what holiday memories are made of!
Candied Yams

Another person added to the thread, "My favorite side dish is candied yams, but not the way most people fix them. My recipe is a handed down one from my maternal grandfather." Did you know that many people think yams are sweet potatoes? But in reality, they're two quite different vegetables!
Leftovers

Apparently, many foodies love the post-holiday feast leftovers the best. One person commented, "Not traditional but a leftovers pie always slaps. Meat and veggies on the bottom, with a browned mashed potato top. Also leftovers egg rolls are a family tradition in my house." [sic] Is it just me, or do some dishes make better leftovers?
I love making leftover turkey soup for a flavor change after the holidays.
