This bold but sweet apple cider dressing gives a whole new flavor to each dish it touches. Whipped up in just a few minutes, you can’t go wrong with having a bottle of this delicious dressing in the fridge.

Why you will love this recipe

    • 2 minute dressing - how is that for quick!
    • Easy instructions and super simple steps
    • Works on any salad recipe or roasted veggies
    • Simple ingredients you probably already have
    • Brings a tangy flavor with balanced sweetness to any salad

What you need to make it

    Ingredient notes & substitutions

    • Olive oil works best but any neutral oil will blend well into the recipe.
    • Use liquid honey when possible so that it mixes well. If using solid honey, heat it in the microwave to make it easier to add.
    • For the best flavor, use raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with the “mother” still in the jar.
    • Salt: Use fine table salt or crushed sea salt flakes

    How to make it

    1. Add all ingredients to a food processor
    2. Process until fully combined.
    3. Taste it and adjust as neeeded

    Tips & tricks

    • Blend it or shake it! You can make this apple cider vinegar dressing by blending it together in a food processor or simply shaking it in a mason jar
    • Make it in advance to save prep time. The vinaigrette has a shelf life of two weeks in the fridge.
    • Shake the jar well before using, to ensure the ingredients are fully mixed
    • Store in the fridge in a jar or other airtight container for up to 2 weeks

    How to serve it

This apple cider vinegar salad dressing brings a bright flavor to any typical, leafy green salad (like this Arugula salad with sundried tomatoes or this Kale salad). Pour it over at the end, or toss with the salad to better coat the leaves.

However, that’s not all it can be used for. This dressing also works on:

    • Fried Feta Cheese
    • Roasted veggies (or air fryer veggies)
    • As a marinade for chicken

    Additional seasonings & variations

Though this apple cider vinaigrette dressing is delicious made as written, it’s also easy to adapt by adding your favorite herbs or other ingredients.

If you want to alter the flavor of the recipe, you can add any of the following add-ins:

    • Blend in a clove of garlic for a sharp flavor
    • Add in fresh raspberries to give a burst of flavor
    • Opt for one tablespoon of Dijon mustard for tangy dishes
    • Sprinkle a teaspoon of oregano into the mix for an earthy taste
    • A tiny bit of chopped red onions

    Recipe FAQ

Which is better: raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar or filtered?

At its base, apple cider vinegar is made by fermenting apple cider (made from apple juice). The difference between raw apple cider vinegar and filtered is that the filtered one has been heat treated and strained. Raw apple cider vinegar contains the mother (the living bacteria that ferments the apple cider) and thus, the health benefits like regulating blood sugar and cholesterol. For the best flavor and to maximize and to reap the perks of apple cider vinegar, buy the raw version.

Is apple cider vinegar salad dressing healthy?

Yes! A homemade apple cider vinaigrette made with raw apple cider vinegar and extra virgin olive oil is a great addition to your salads. By making homemade salad dressings you eliminate any additives from store-bought versions

What do you need to make apple cider vinegar dressing?

At its very base, apple cider vinaigrette is made with apple cider vinegar, olive oil, and a sweetener like maple syrup or honey. From there, you can flavor your vinaigrette as per your preference.
