How to make Air Fryer Chicken Cordon Bleu

collage showing how to make frozen chicken cordon bleu in air fryer.
    1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and brush the chicken with cooking oil
    2. Place the chicken cordon bleu in the air fryer basket
    3. Air fry for 12-15 minutes at 400°F (200°C), flipping them once halfway. Then check to make sure they are done, and serve!

    Tips & tricks

    • Preheat the air fryer for best results
    • Don't defrost the chicken cordon bleu, cook it straight from frozen
    • Don't overcrowd your air fryer basket - you want there to be some space left around the chicken cordon bleus
    • Flip them halfway for an even cook
    • Use a meat thermometer to make sure they are done. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
    • Adjust cooking time depending on the size of the chicken cordon bleus - this can vary a lot! 12 minutes was perfect for this smaller version.
    • Cook time can vary with different air fryers
    • Store leftover chicken cordon bleu in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 4 days - but I recommend not air frying more than you will finish straight away

    Recipe FAQ

Looking for more answers to your Air Fryer Questions? Check out my extensive Air Fryer FAQ!

Can you cook a frozen chicken cordon bleu in the air fryer?

Yes, it's the best way to cook it!

How long do you cook frozen chicken cordon bleu in an air fryer?

Cook time depends on the size of the chicken cordon bleus, but it will usually take 12-20 minutes.

How do I know that my frozen chicken cordon bleu is done?

Regardless if you are starting out with the rawe or pre-cooked version, it should be heated to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). This is easy to check with an instant-read thermometer inserted into the middle of the chicken.

If it is almost there, you can wrap it in aluminum foil for a few minutes and the temperature will rise a few degrees.

If you don't have a meat thermometer you can cut into the chicken to check. If cooking raw chicken cordon bleu, make sure the chicken is white through and the juices run clear. If cooking precooked chicken cordon bleu, make sure it is thoroughly heated.
