With just 2 minutes of prep & 14 minutes of cooking, you can cook the best frozen French Fries in your air fryer. Perfectly crispy with just a tiny bit of olive oil, and ready to serve with your favorite dipping sauces!
Less Greasy and Just as Crispy!
Since I got my first air fryer I haven't made fries any other way. Sure, deep fat fried fries are amazing - and I'm not gonna tell you these are AS good. But they're a real close second. And just as crispy, if not even crispier!
And compared to the oven version? This is SO much better!
This Recipe Works for Any Type of Fries
This recipe works with any kind of fries - just adjust the cook time depending on how thick or thin they are.
I also have guides to air frying some specific types of fries:
- Frozen Sweet Potato Fries
- Frozen Crinkle Fries
- Frozen Curly Fries
- Frozen Waffle Fries
- Ore Ida Fries
- Air Fryer Steak Fries (from scratch!)
- Carrot Fries (from scratch!)
Just Season & Air Fry!
I do recommend adding a little bit of oil even when air frying fries, but you can skip it if you want to.
If you want to add salt or other seasonings, add them before cooking - with the oil. I find this helps it stick better to the fries!
Tips for the Best Air Fryer Fries
- Don't defrost the fries. You can and should cook them straight from frozen.
- For the crispiest fries, cook them in a single layer.
- You can layer the fries if you need to, but they won't come out quite as crispy. They will also need a little bit more time to cook.
- Don't overcrowd the basket. Never fill it more than halfway!
- Add additional seasonings if you like. I recommend trying Elote seasoning, Ranch seasoning, cajun seasoning, or anything else you enjoy.
Storing, Freezing & Reheating
Leftovers: Fries are best eaten fresh, but you can use leftovers to make a super tasty leftover french fry casserole.
Storing: Store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
Freezing: I don't recommend freezing leftovers.
Reheating: Reheat fries in the air fryer for 5 minutes at 300°F (150°C).
