It takes less than 10 minutes to cook Frozen Spring Rolls in your Air Fryer - and there's no mess to clean up after. With just a little bit of oil they come out crispy and delicious and better than fried - and all ready to dip in your favorite sauce.
I love frozen spring rolls and always have them on hand. It's such a great snack and appetizer!
The only thing I don't like is frying them - because frying means oil, and oil means a mess. So now I only make them in my air fryer - and guess what? I actually like them better than the fried ones.
Why you will love this recipe
- It's quick - done in under 10 minutes
- It's easy and cooks itself, thanks to the air fryer
- There's no mess to clean up
- They come out better than fried - yes, for real!
- Less oil means a healthier choice
What you need to make them
Ingredient notes & substitutions
- Spring rolls - I always use a small kind
- Vegetable oil - use a neutral oil. I like rapeseed oil for this.
How to make them
For a quick slide show of the process - check out this story.
- Start by brushing the spring rolls with oil. Meanwhile, preheat your air fryer by running it at 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
- Place the spring rolls in the air fryer basket and fry for 4 minutes at 400°F (200°C)
- Bring out the basket, and turn the spring rolls. Then place back in the air fryer for 4 minutes at 400°F (200°C).
- All done!
Tips & tricks
- Cook in one layer only or they will end up soggy. Cook them in batches if you want to cook many.
- Adjust cook time if your spring rolls are larger - start with 5 + 5 minutes, then check if they are warm all the way through
- Dip in your favorite sauce - my favorite is a combo of sweet chili sauce and dark soy sauce, or make your own gyoza sauce
- These spring rolls don't store well after cooking so I recommend eating them all straight away!

Nowhere near as good as frying.
Maybe good as a healthy alternative. But if you want proper crispy and juicy spring rolls, fry them in veg oil in a wok. They taste far more sumptuous.

Hi Nick! I do love a greasy spirng roll, but as you mentioned, this is a good helathier alternative. /Emmeline

Donna : I sent you an email about my troubles with an air fryer but have not had any answer yet. Did you receive it? Thanks
Emmeline Kemperyd
Hi Donna - you've got a mail! 🙂
Ida
Hi love the recipe. My spring rolls turned out dry… any thoughts on what I can do to correct this? Thanks!
Emmeline Kemperyd
Hi Ida! Sorry to hear that. Where they dry on the outside or inside? Did you use oil? If they were dry on the outside I'd recommend trying a bit more oil next time, and if they were dry on the inside it might be related to the specific spring rolls you're using but could also help to shorten cook time. Try a minute or so less and check if they are done! Let me know how it goes 🙂

As a beginner in the airfryers world, these instructions were awesome; perfectly detailed and the result was amazing. Thanks for sharing

Hi Carla! Thank you for your great comment & rating. Happy to help! 🙂
Mel
Hi, thanks for the guide. I air fried my spring rolls but they didn't turn brown like yours. I extended the time but still pale looking. Are they suppose to look like that using airfry method? Thanks.
Emmeline Kemperyd
Hi Mel,
When I use my Philips or Ninja air fryers they come out looking as in the pictures. If yours are pale, I would increase the temperature. All air fryers are a bit different, so sometimes you need to figure out how hot or cold your specific model is. /Emmeline
Barb
Thanks for the tip! Still getting used to my air fryer…love it. The spring rolls turned out great!
