Make the best nachos ever in just 10 minutes, all with the help of your air fryer! These nachos are loaded with multiple layers of cheese and a good dose of Tajin seasoning for incredible flavor. Enjoy with your favorite toppings as a snack or appetizer, or even for dinner!
Tajin Makes All the Difference
Have you tried Tajin seasoning before? It's my secret weapon! I use it for everything that needs a flavor boost, from avocado toast to eggs and yes - even nachos!
I find that regular nachos can often feel a bit too heavy. I love cheese but just chips + cheese makes it very... cheesy? But add a good sprinkle of spicy-sour Tajin seasoning and you've instead got next level nachos!
So run to the store, grab a bottle of Tajin (it's in the Mexican aisle!), and let's get cooking.
These Ingredients Will Get You Started
The beauty of nachos is that you can top them whatever way you like. All you really need is chips and cheese - and Tajin, if you ask me. But apart from that, you can add whatever you like.
I opted for a vegetarian version here, with avocado, cilantro, sour cream, salsa, jalapeños and black olives - but you can also add cooked and seasoned ground beef, refried beans, shredded chicken, pulled pork... really, whatever you desire and/or have left over in the fridge!
It’s as Easy as 1,2… Done!
1. Layer
Start by placing a piece of aluminum foil in the bottom of your air fryer basket, and top it with half the chips. Add half the cheese and half the Tajin, then add another layer just like that.
2. Air Fry
Air fry for 3-5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and as golden as you like it. Top as you like, and enjoy!
Tips for the Best Nachos
Do use aluminum foil or a silicone liner. All that melting cheese can really end up making a mess otherwise!
Keep an eye on the nachos while cooking. They are done really fast! Depending on your specific air fryer and how golden/brown you like your cheese, they might be done in as little as 3 minutes.
What to Do With Leftovers
Nachos are best eaten straight away, while the cheese is still warm and soft. You can however store leftovers, and if so it's best to store them without toppings.
Storing: Store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days. It's best to store nachos without toppings.
Freezing: Do not freeze leftovers.
Reheating in the air fryer: Reheat leftovers in the air fryer for 3-5 minutes, until cheese is melted.
Reheating in microwave: Do not reheat in the microwave if you've used aluminum foil, in case there are still small pieces stuck to the cheese.
