With no prep time & 10-15 minutes of cooking you can cook delicious, juicy, tender Frozen Steak in Air Fryer *. The best way to cook frozen steak, and you will be surprised that it's just as good as fresh!

I love a good steak, and once or twice a year I buy a lot of high-quality steaks from a local farmer. They go in the freezer and then they're ready for me whenever I need them. As long as I remember to thaw them in time!
Well, these days I don't even need to remember that. I just throw the frozen steak in my air fryer *, and have dinner on the table in 15 minutes. It's really the easiest way ever to cook steak - and air fryer * frozen steak has quickly become my favorite steak!

What you need to make them
Ingredient notes
- Frozen steak: Any cut of steak works, I prefer sirloin or ribeye steak. Cook time will vary depending on the thickness and size.
- Seasoning can be adjusted to suit your taste - the seasoning included is my standard steak seasoning
- Sea salt flakes can be swapped for other types of salt - but then use less
- Olive oil can be swapped for another type of cooking oil
How to cook frozen steak in air fryer
- Preheat your air fryer * to 390°F (200°C) and place the frozen steak in the air fryer * basket. Air fry for 4 minutes.
- Meanwhile, place garlic powder, pepper and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl
- Mix to combine
- Pour in olive oil and mix again
- After air frying for 4 minutes, bring out the air fryer * basket and spread out half the seasoning on the top of the steak. Flip it and spread out the rest on the other side. Air fry 4 more minutes.
- After air frying for 4 + 4 minutes, start checking the temperature. If it's within 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit of your target temperature * (before resting), flip the steak and air fry 1 more minute. If it's further away, flip it and add 2 minutes. Repeat until you are at the target temperature * before resting.
- Place the steak on a piece of aluminium foil, top with half the salt
- Wrap it up and let rest for at least 5 minutes. Top with the remaining sea salt flakes just before serving.
Tips & tricks
- Preheat the air fryer * for best results
- Don't defrost the steak, cook it straight from frozen. If you want to make air fryer * steak with a thawed or fresh steak, check out this Air Fryer Rib Eye recipe instead.
- I always salt after cooking as I find steak to easily become too salty when seasoned before - if you want to, you can add salt to the reast of the seasoning
- Cook in one layer if making multiple steaks
- Follow the time guidelines - they're tried and tested to make sure you get an evenly cooked steak that also has a nice sear on the outside
- Cook time will vary with the size of your steak, and your air fryer *
- Use a meat thermometer * to make sure you cook it just right
- Allow the steak to rest for at least 5 minutes, to trap the moisture inside and allow for a slow rise to your target temperature *
- Store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days
- Reheat steak in your air fryer for best results
Cooking times & internal temperatures
For best results, I recommend using a meat thermometer * and aiming for the set points below. The times stated are approximate and for a ¾ inch steak.
Start with 4 +4 minutes, unless you are cooking a much thinner steak in which case start with 2+2 or 3+3 minutes. Then add 1-2 minutes at a time, and always flip it when adding more time.

Frozen Steak in Air Fryer

- 1 frozen steak
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sea salt flakes divided
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer for 390°F (200°C).
- Place the frozen steak in the air fryer basket and air fry for 4 minutes.1 frozen steak

With a meat thermometer
- Check the internal temperature and add more time depending on how far away you are from the resting point. If you are more than 15-20°F (8-10°C) away, flip and add 2 minutes. If you are closer, flip and add 1 minute. Repeat until you are at or close to the resting point.
- Place the steak on a piece of aluminium foil and top with half the sea salt flakes. Wrap it up and allow to rest for at least 5 minutes.1 teaspoon sea salt flakes
