Learn how to cook a deliciously juicy T-bone steak in your air fryer, it's so quick, and so easy! Served with a simple homemade garlic butter or a sauce of your choice it makes a perfect dinner any night of the week.
Juicy Steak - in Your Air Fryer!
Ever since I first cooked a steak in my air fryer, it's my go-to method. It's quick, easy, and the result is just as juicy as with any other cooking method - maybe even more so!
The only thing you don't get is that crusty sear - but I, for one, don't even miss it.
For this T-bone I included my favorite easy recipe for garlic butter. Make it or not, it's up to you, but it does go so wonderfully with the steak!
Enjoy, and let me know how it turned out in the comments!
It’s So Easy, Just Season and Air Fry!
1. Prep & Season
For best results, you always want to start with a room temperature steak, and pat it dry so the seasoning sticks. Then mix together the oil & seasoning and just rub it all over the steak.
2. Air Fry & Rest
Air fry until cooked to your liking, and flip once about halfway for the most even result. I included some temperatures below to aim for.
When it's almost at your set temperature (a few degrees below), remove from the air fry, wrap in foil, and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Then serve immediately topped with the garlic butter!
Tips For Best Results
- Start with a room temp steak. It will cook quicker and more evenly than if you start with a cold steak.
- Use a meat thermometer. This is the best way to ensure you cook your steak to just the right temperature point, and not too much or too little.
- Let it rest. Letting the steak rest wrapped in foil means it can gently reach your set temperature point with less risk of overcooking, and I also find it gives you a juicier steak.
Recommended Internal Temperature
I recommend cooking beef to about 5 degrees below the setpoint and then allowing it to rest covered for at least 5 minutes. The temperature will rise up to 5-7 degrees Fahrenheit (2-3 degrees Celsius) while resting.
Internal temperature | Rest from | |
Rare | 120-125°F (48-52°C) | 118-120°F / 46-48°C |
Medium Rare | 130°F (54°C | 125°F / 52°C |
Medium | 140°F (60°C) | 135°F / 58°C |
Medium Well | 150°F (65°C) | 145°F / 63°C |
Well Done | 155°F (68°C) | 150°F / 66°C |
