When you have chicken wings you want to reheat, the air fryer is the very best way to ensure they stay crispy and delicious. In this post, I've gathered my best tips and tricks for reheating leftover wings without drying them out!
What Kind of Chicken Wings Can You Reheat in Your Air Fryer?
You can follow this guide to reheat any kind of chicken wing in the air fryer. They can be breaded or non-breaded, with or without sauce, store bought or homemade.
If you want to reheat other cuts of chicken, I have specific guides for that:
How to Reheat Wings Without Drying Them Out
- Preheat your air fryer, then brush the basket with olive oil
- Place the wings in the basket and brush the tops with oil as well
- Air fry 5 minutes at 360°F (180°C), until done, flipping them once halfway
How to Reheat Them in the Oven
If you want to reheat them in the oven instead, do so at 350°F (175°C) for 10-20 minutes, until heated through.
Tips & Tricks for the Juiciest Wings
- Don't overcrowd the air fryer; reheat in a single layer.
- Olive oil is optional but great for keeping the wings from drying out. It can be swapped for a neutral cooking oil or cooking spray.
- Use a meat thermometer to make sure they are sufficiently heated. Leftovers should always be heated to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safe consumption.
- If reheating wings with a lot of sauce: add a bit of water to the bottom of the air fryer basket, to avoid excess smoke.
Storing, Freezing & Reheating (Again)
Reheat only as many wings as you will finish - they will not be as good if reheated multiple times.
You can still store leftovers if you want to. Store them in the fridge in an airtight container, for up to 4 days.
I don't recommend freezing leftovers.
Reheat leftovers in the air fryer again - just follow this guide!
