It's super easy to cook or heat up pre cooked shrimp in an air fryer. It takes just 2-3 minutes, and you can cook them from fresh, frozen or thawed. I suggest seasoning with garlic & paprika for incredible flavor, and topping it all off with fresh parsley for a green touch.

Pre cooked shrimp is a staple in my freezer, and it's such a great way to add protein to everything from Shrimp Risotto, Shrimp Tacos and Shrimp Curry to Shrimp Carbonara and Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta. Or make a delicious appetizer like Shrimp Scampi or Buffalo Shrimp.

    Ingredient notes & substitutions

    • Shrimp: These instructions were created for pre cooked jumbo shrimp, peeled or not, and it works with frozen, thawed and fresh shrimp. You can also use smaller shrimp, just start with a shorter cooking time. You can also make this with frozen raw shrimp, just add one minute more to the cook time.
    • Olive oil can be swapped for another type of vegetable oil
    • Seasoning can be adjusted as you like, but this version adds loads of delicious flavor

    Tips & tricks

    • If using frozen shrimp: air fry 1 minute to thaw before mixing with the seasoning and oil
    • Marinate 15-30 minutes to maximize flavor
    • If using a diffeerent size of shrimp adjust the cooking time accordingly
    • Cook shrimp in a single layer for an even cook. If you want to cook more, cook in batches.
    • Serve with a sauce or two - I recommend Garlic Dipping Sauce, Chipotle Ranch or Sour Cream Sauce with Avocado & Lime
    • Shrimp are best eaten straight away - if reheating the texture will not be as good
    • Store leftover shrimp in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days
    • Do not freeze leftovers
    • Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 2 minutes
